A New Kind Of Swong

9 buy-in downswing in one night of 100NL hu and 6max. It was quite a marathon. It's funny how $900 is now just 9 buy-ins and not really a big deal.
.

August is already beating July, and that's just with cash game winnings. I haven't played many tourneys, but I did have a nice score in a $50 mtt for about $350 or something. Hopefully I can ride out this last week without any more swongs.

I've just been grinding 100NL 6-max and 50NL HU and things are going well. Today was my last day of work for the summer, and I now have two weeks off before school starts back up. Hopefully I'll get lots of hands in and have some interesting spots to post about.

Also considering a trip to Niagara and some live 200NL!

BB Specials

I didn't get around to posting a July review, but it ended up being my best month ever. I made close to$3000 from cash games, tourneys, and rakeback.

August is on pace to beat even that. I'm playing and running pretty well.

Here's a nice hand from an earlier session of 100NL:

Seat #3 is the dealer
Seat 3 - UNTAPPED ($359.83 in chips)
Seat 4 - DJ_JIM ($110.10 in chips)
Seat 6 - Hero ($181.31 in chips)
Seat 1 - TEEFOR4 ($70.92 in chips)
Seat 2 - GARRETT303 ($104.70 in chips)
DJ_JIM - Posts small blind $0.50
Hero - Posts big blind $1

Dealt to Hero [ ]
TEEFOR4 - Folds
GARRETT303 - Calls $1
UNTAPPED - Calls $1
DJ_JIM - Folds
Hero - Checks

Flop:
[ ]
Hero - Bets $3 -- bet out with 2nd pair
GARRETT303 - Folds
UNTAPPED - Raises $7 to $7 -- small raise
Hero - Calls $4 -- could well be ahead here, easy call

Turn:
[ ] [ ]
Hero - Bets $13 -- great turn, gotta bet it for value in case dude has a king, and in case he was semi-bluffing with a flush draw
UNTAPPED - Raises $27 to $27 -- another small raise
Hero - Calls $14 -- just call for pot control

River:
[ ] [ ]
Hero - Checks -- draws all missed.. he's taken control of the hand, so check it to him and let him bluff
UNTAPPED - Bets $35.75 -- cha ching
Hero - Calls $35.75 -- snap it off

Showdown:
UNTAPPED - Shows [ ] (ace high)
Hero - Shows [ ] (Two Pair, queens and eights)
Hero Collects $140 from main pot

This line might seem weird, but I think it squeezes out the most value from villain's range which mostly consists of weak kings and flush draws.
